2017 New Year Resolutions

There are a few items on my agenda for next year. I could say many things about my success rate this year; the only thing I will say is that this year is finally almost over. These are my core goals for 2017.

  • Re-launch my brand to a clearly defined target audience.

I’ve contemplated a lot about why my platform isn’t growing. It’s because I’m not applying the correct methods. Before this year ends, I am going to revamp my business plan for a fruitful re-launch.

  • Build subscriber list to 100.

As far as I am aware, I have no dedicated readers. This is problematic for any dedicated writer. That changes in 2017. If I am to survive as a writer I am going to need readers.

  • Complete To Save a Life.

To Save a Life originally started off as a four-part short story in 2015. The project I was working on 2015-2016 was scrapped and in its place, I began working on To Save a Life. I’ve been working on this novel for over a year now. This current project needs to end so that I can get to the other projects in my journal.

  • Participate in NaNoWriMo.

One of my goals this year was to participate in National Novel Writing Month and I didn’t. I was not prepared. This coming year, I will prepare for NaNoWriMo and participate.

  • Revise my writing templates.

To make my stories good, I use templates to gather important information about the story, setting, and characters. To ensure that my stories become better, I need to modify my templates.

  • Complete a 31-day fast from all media, except music.

Media is a very important part of my life. Since I was a youth, I was raised in front of the television. Just thinking about it spurs happy thoughts. Movies and games were essential. Now that I am in the church and media has all but been uprooted, I want to increase my faith by taking on this challenge. Music, however, is one addiction I don’t want to pull away from.

  • Prepare for parenthood.

Being a parent has been on my mind since I was a child. If I am to be a parent I need to get my personal life together; but also learn what it takes to be a good parent.

  • Share the Bible with more people in my personal life.

My goal as a Christian is to share the Good News with everyone. Christ is coming soon. I’ve had plenty of opportunities to share the word of God with others. In 2017, I want to reach even more souls. Not just by canvassing or giving out tracts but by getting the opportunity to share the gospel through personal Bible Study and Home Cell Groups.

  • Learn more about science and how it complements religion

I’m not very science-savvy. In fact, I failed Biology 4-6 times in High School. It’s a miracle I graduated. However, science is a common excuse for why people won’t even take the time of day to learn who God is; the greatest Scientist alive.
